Hybrid cloud solutions from Microsoft.
The cost-effective combination for companies.

Microsoft’s cloud products are a real blessing in the course of digitalisation. They make it easier to provide modern workplaces with remote access from all mobile devices and guarantee maximum protection for internal company data.

Despite all their advantages, pure cloud environments do not offer the best licensing for every organisation. Software procurement is based on a company’s needs and medium-term orientation. Also on cost specifications. State-of-the-art technology is not necessarily the optimum solution! Rather, hybrid cloud solutions – a combination of cloud and on-premises software – are often the more sensible alternative!

Let Microsoft Solutions Partner VENDOSOFT advise you on the right IT infrastructure for your needs. Whether new, used, cloud or hybrid cloud, our licence strategists will find out for you quickly and free of charge.

  • For predominantly stationary workstations
  • To take full advantage of cloud and on-premises options
  • For device-based licensing
  • To create redundancy
  • To ensure compatibility with older hardware & specialised software
  • To keep sensitive data in the company

They can be a combination of an Exchange Online plan with used Microsoft Office licences (instead of new hardware and/or expensive rental software).

Or Microsoft 365 Business Premium (which can use Terminal Server) in conjunction with Windows Server 2022 (on-premises), which enables the Terminal Server to be set up – and saves expensive hardware costs with Azure.

VENDOSOFT provides answers to the most
frequently asked questions about hybrid cloud solutions

What is a hybrid cloud?

In IT, a hybrid cloud is a platform based on two or more components from public cloud, private cloud and on-premises IT. At VENDOSOFT we speak of a hybrid cloud when we combine Microsoft Cloud services with new or used volume licences. This enables us to achieve the most practicable and cost-effective solution for your company.

What is private cloud and public cloud?

The public cloud provides IT services publicly over the Internet. This is done via groups of interconnected servers, known as server farms. These services, such as the Microsoft Office 365 products, can be used by anyone. The public cloud means that companies don’t have to deal with the administration of IT as this is handled by the providers. A private cloud offers companies greater control and security. Here, too, the services are made available via the Internet or an internal network, but only for a clearly defined group of users. Users of a private cloud benefit from the advantages of cloud computing (including scalability, performance, no acquisition costs), but at the same time also from the specific control and customisation options of the private cloud.

For which companies does the use of a hybrid cloud make sense?

Despite its many advantages, a pure cloud architecture does not offer the right licensing for every organization. Software procurement is based on the needs and medium-term orientation of a company. Also on cost specifications. Hybrid cloud solutions – i.e. the combination of cloud and on-premises software – are the more sensible (and significantly cheaper) alternative for many companies. Let VENDOSOFT advise you!

What are the advantages of a hybrid cloud?

The hybrid cloud guarantees needs-driven licensing. It’s based on the needs of a company, its requirements and possibilities. Simplified example: 50% of the employees work remotely, 50% permanently on the static desktop computer in the office. This is also set to remain so in the medium term. This means that half of the workforce can do without cloud software, which over time is more expensive than one-time purchased on-premises licences. In this case, a hybrid cloud is the optimal and most cost-effective solution.

Savings potential of a hybrid cloud

Deployments of hybrid software architectures are diverse and very individual depending on the company, industry, employee structure and strategic orientation. Therefore, request a comparison based on your requirements. The VENDOSOFT licence experts will show you the advantages of hybrid architectures and will find the optimal and most cost-effective model for you!

How secure are hybrid clouds?

Difficult to answer. Microsoft, for example, allows authorised users to access the cloud applications via the company’s intranet or a closed virtual private network (VPN). External access is usually protected by a firewall. It protects individual computers or an entire computer network from unauthorised external access. For the on-premises part of the hybrid cloud, the responsible IT managers ensure protection against cyber-attacks and unwanted access within the company.

What happens to on-premises licences after the conversion?

If your company switches to cloud services (pure or hybrid cloud), the licences you have been using up to that point are freed up. As a rule, these are worth significantly more than the pure balance sheet value may suggest. Offer to sell your Adobe and Microsoft licences to VENDOSOFT! This streamlines your software asset management and frees up budgets to cover parts of your cloud migration!

What does a smooth entry into the hybrid cloud look like?

Getting started with the hybrid cloud requires a precise analysis and the setting up of a migration plan that is geared to the needs and requirements of your company. The licence strategists from VENDOSOFT are there to advise you!

Why should companies use pre-owned licences and hybrid models?

A key aspect is that companies save up to 80%. The savings potential results from the lower acquisition costs for second-hand licences as well as the high scalability and lower maintenance costs.

Where do used licences come from?

Companies can sell used software licences that are no longer required, for example due to a system change. Dealers such as VENDOSOFT buy and sell these licences in a legally compliant manner.

Who are used software licences practical for?

Companies that don’t need the latest software version can buy “older”, used licences. Software doesn’t wear out and so users can take advantage of all updates, rights and support – as well as savings of up to 90% compared to a new purchase.

Is buying used licences allowed – is it legal?

Yes, the purchase and sale of used software licences is legal according to the judgment of the European Court of Justice of 3 July 2012 and the confirmation of this judgment by the German Federal Court of Justice in July 2013. Make sure you only buy from reputable used software dealers who handle the purchase process in a legally compliant manner.
